Last Friday, we had the opportunity to attend the Global Asian Moon Festival and Creators Summit at the beautiful Autry Museum in Los Angeles. It was an incredible gathering filled with vibrant performances, delicious food, and powerful conversations about creativity and culture.

Walking in, we could immediately feel the energy. From music performances to wellness sessions, the whole space was buzzing with excitement. One of the highlights was the live comedy set by Joe Wong. His humor was relatable, and he had the crowd laughing the entire time. We also enjoyed McKenzi Brooke’s live performance, which brought a modern TikTok flavor to the event.

The wellness area caught our attention, too. There were healing sessions like Taoist calligraphy and sound baths that were not only calming but also a wonderful reflection of the diverse cultural traditions being celebrated. And let’s not forget the range of art exhibits showcasing both emerging and renowned Asian artists—each piece told its own unique story.

One of the things that stood out the most? The food! The festival featured an array of mouth-watering dishes, from Taiwanese delights to the famous Boba Truck. Our personal favorite had to be the Thai handcrafted ice cream—what a refreshing treat!

Then came the Creator Summit, a deep dive into the creative economy. We had the chance to listen to truly inspiring talks about the future of content creation, with speakers from companies like TikTok and industry experts like fashion artist Andy Yu and environmental brand Janet Mandell. It wasn’t just about entertainment; it was about how Asian creatives are leading change across industries worldwide.

As we enjoyed the festivities, we couldn’t help but reflect on a project close to our hearts—our documentary titled “Alviso: An Untold Story.”

Just like the festival highlighted the immense contributions of Asian creatives, Alviso holds a similarly rich history. Not many know that this little waterfront town helped lay the groundwork for what we now call Silicon Valley.
