6th Committee Meeting
On March 9th, 2025, CPMentorship hosted its 6th committee meeting. All the committees shared updates on their progress and future plans.
AI for Good
The AI for good committee presented how they funded, planned, and ran their recent AI hackathon, as well as their key takeaways from the event. All team members were honored with Certificates of Recognition from the California State Assembly, recognizing their leadership and innovation.
Clean Energy in Art
This committee announced their plans to hold workshops and art competitions in the future, powered by grant funding from Silicon Valley Clean Energy (SVCE).
History and Culture
This committee talked about several recent and ongoing projects.
Documenting the stories of pioneering Chinese immigrant families in San Jose.
Collaborating with Dr. Hsiao-ting Lin from Stanford’s Hoover Institution on writing two books about Sino-American relations during the Second Sino-Japanese War.
Writing the Chinese classic Of the Mountains and Seas for kids, with each book focusing on a different region and featuring child-drew illustrations.
Art
The Art committee also shared their plans, such as creating an art competition and hosting art workshops.
Water Conservation
The water conservation committee showed off their newly installed aquaponics system. This garnered several questions from the audience, such as how aquaponics worked and how it saved water compared to normal farming.
Wellness
The wellness committee spoke about their plan to host a wellness datathon and community bird watching event.
Drone
Ethan presented a slide about the FAA Part 107 regulations. As a new team, they are planning to get a certificate in the near future and prepare for the real work.
